James Cooper wearing glasses and a dark blue shirt speaking on stage with a dark blue curtain backdrop.

James, our master of ceremonies, is a highly experienced host, whose strength is getting people to tell their stories while allowing them to shine in front of an audience.

A former Presenter of Granada Tonight and Manchester correspondent for Sky Sports for 18 years, James has worked on some of the biggest stories and alongside some of the biggest names in British sport.

Since coming to Manchester more than 30 years ago, James has been a powerful advocate for the people and stories that make the city such a unique and special environment.

His broadcasting career means he’s at home dealing with celebrities and heroes, who’re often shocked to find out he’s neither a Blue nor a Red when it comes to football.

James lives in Cheadle Hulme with his wife Nicky and two sons who’ve already achieved something he’ll never match, they’re actually born and bred Mancunians.
